BRANDYWINE |
I
am pleased to announce that on 6/30 we placed into
service our 2004 Pierce Dash engine, seating for six,
2000/750/30A, Detroit Series 60, 430HP, Tac-4
independent front suspension, Hale Foam System, 15KW
Harrison hydraulic generator, Will-Burt telescoping 4KW
light tower, 5KW of fixed lights, 2 electric cord reels,
high side compartments both sides, ladder tunnel, 5
attack lines of various sizes, forestry line on a reel,
1200 feet of 5 inch supply line, and 500 feet of 3 inch.
The unique thing about this engine is that it
does not have any crosslays or mattydales.
In the front bumper will be two 1-3/4” attack
lines, one at 100 ft, the other at 175 ft. We will also have another 300 ft 1-3/4”, a 200 ft 2-1/2”,
and a 200 ft 3” with a BlitzFire off the rear – all
pre-connected.

Ordered
a Pierce Quantum (new style), 4-door eight man cab,
2000/400, 75 ft RM aluminum ladder, Detroit Series 60,
515HP, Tac-4 front suspension, 20KW Harrison hydraulic
generator, with 11 quartz lights.
This will be a double first for the Southeastern
PA region – 1st company with the new style
Quantum, and the new aluminum ladder from Pierce.

Update:
placed their all white 2003 Dodge Durango QRS/squad into
service on 6/20.

WHITELAND |
They
got a 2004 Ford F-350 XL/Reading, crew cab, 6 ft open
compartmented body, on 6/23 from Fred Beans Ford of West
Chester. They
will use this as a QRS/squad unit.
They also got a 1998 Ford E-150 van from the
township- former police van – backup traffic
unit/squad at the current time.

5/26th placed into service their 2004
Chevrolet 2500/Odyssey traffic unit. Sold their 1987
Ford L9000/4-Guys pumper to Jon’s Truck’s – will
leave once the new Pierce goes in service.

not in service as of 6/1.

the 1984 Pierce Arrow pumper that they got from Goodwill
of Bristol
(Bucks County), went in service on 4/21 as Engine 34.
The 1981 International/4-guys pumper is now
Engine 34-1.

1979 Chevrolet/Piece mini-pumper is now permanently OOS
– cost too much to maintain – limited use in borough
– may donate to needy company.

Has
purchased a all white 2003 Dodge Durango, a leftover
from a Amtrak piggy-back order, will be letter, placed
into service as a QRS/squad.

Their
new Pierce Dash pumper should be done the 1st
week of April and the Chevrolet Suburban/Odyssey traffic
unit by the end of April.
The current traffic unit (1986 Ford Van) is OOS
since it will not pass inspection.

received a 1996 Freightliner FL-112/Sutphen pumper,
1500/750, 4-door, rollup doors, RW in color, from
Parsippany-Troy Hills (Morris County, NJ) – to be used
at the sub-station.

the motor on their 1990 Chevrolet Suburban squad –
will not repair it – not suppose to be replaced until
next year – might get the Chevrolet Caprice chief’s
vehicle since it is being replaced with a Ford
Expedition. Starting
to spec out a new engine.

repaired from its accident, returned to service on 2/26.

converted to a traffic unit.

the sub-station to better utilize their manpower

In the process of purchasing a used 1997 Kenworth/Supthen
pumper from Parsippany-Troy Hills (Morris County, NJ)
– to be used at the sub-station.

their former 1996 GMC/National 4x4 ambulance to a squad
unit – sold the 1991 Chevrolet Caprice (former police
car) to the City of Coatesville FD so the paid EMS can
use it to run errands – can’t use a ambulance for
that – don’t ask questions – it is a Coatesville
thing.

the motor on their 1990 Chevrolet Suburban squad – not
sure what they are going to do with it.

Got
a Unimog chassis – is at General right now awaiting
the final set of prints.
Its
main function will be a hose tender and will be equipped
with 3,000 feet of 5" hose and 1,000 feet of
3" hose. It
has a Rosenbauer Ultra Hi-Pressure Pump (1450 PSI
@10GPM) equipped with foam injection.
Pump creates complete atomization
of water resulting in no steam.
Carries 200 gallons of water with a 20 gallon
foam cell, special nozzle and 200 ft reel.
Chief says we will probably be using it
as an attack piece and for the occasional field
fire. 8kw hydraulic generator and a manifold set
up with a 3" discharge and 2 - 2" discharges,
ladders, hooks, shovels,
brooms, air packs, forcible entry tools etc. Truck
is 33,000gvw 4wd chassis with 3 man crew, 36"
wheels and a 125" reversible
plow, 8 speeds forward
and 4 in reverse with intelligent shift joystick
control and torque multiplication.
Hope to approve final plans within two weeks
chassis is at the body company now. No completion date
yet. |

Their
1995 HME/4-Guys pumper which is at Interstate getting
repaired from its accident, is in the paint shop now,
hope to get back by the end of February.
In addition to the repairs, a light tower will be
installed, Buck-eye rota-ray, and some compartment work.

Their
new Pierce rescue-pumper was placed into service on
12/20/03.

CORNER |
It
is my understanding that the 1976/89
Hendrickson/Spartan/Pierce Squrt was sold in December,
and that they are going to purchase Goodwill’s of
Bristol (Bucks County) 1984 Pierce Arrow, 1750/500, with
a large diameter hose reel.
They will remove the hose reel, and place a
larger tank in its place.
They received a $225,000 FEMA grant to purchase a
custom pumper-tanker, which will replace the 1989
International/4-Guys pumper.

their 1989 Pierce Arrow ladder to Diamond State
Ambulance to have the emergency & scene lights
upgraded.

Ordered
a Monmouth Spartan/American LaFrance (R.D. Murray),
4-door, 1500/500/30/50, CAFS, tandem-axle, rear-mount
pump, light tower, 30 KW Harrison generator, rollup
doors, rescue-pumper. The 1987 Mack R/Liberty rescue
left on 12/27 to Montgomery Township (Montgomery
County). They
got a 1986 GMC 7000/Emergency One 4x4 rescue on loan
from ALF used apparatus to hold them over. |
